Hi there
Ok, I am going to build a PC with many little features like: 3Xfans (Enermax possibly), grill covers, fan filter, Enermax Power suppy (which is where the question comes in), memory coolers etc. Now the question I have is this, which power supply should I get to be able to power up the following & how much power would it take (will it really show up on my power bill since I run my PC 24/7)

CUSL2-C motherboard
PIII 800 EB ( I think it is EB)
1X 256 Micron Memory
2X 128 Micron Memory
Western Digital 40 GB 7200rpm HD
Pioneer DVD Rom 12X
Plextor 12X10X32 Burner
ZipDrive IDE
ATI AIW Radeon 32MB DDR
Adaptec SCSI 2940U2W ( believe it or not I only use it for a scanner )
Netgear NIC
USRobotic 56K Modem
Creative Audigy sound card
3X Fans ( will get the one that connect straight to the powersupply ( I heard that is better then connecting them to the motherboard)

So my question again is which power supply would you suggest 350W or 400W & how much would that effect my electric bill (I know it sounds kind of stupid but I live in CA & it is pricy)

Thanx

I have a few more HDs than that and it seems to run happy on 350W. Remember, things like your burner, dvd, zip drive only use significant power when they're spinning up. I think athlon systems are the ones which tend to require major power supplies. Enermax 365 FCA !!!

your PSU only draws as much power as it needs. the rating on the power supply is the max it can channel. Your system with the current PSU will draw the same amount of power if you have an Enermax 650w.

Also, I like the Antecs, but I like the Enermax power supplies are much better.

Yeah I was looking @ the Antec cases too, I found one @ www.coolerguys.com for about $69.00 ( since I am going to paint mine anyway)
but I am planning on putting the Enermax power supply into it.
Now the question is if I am going to connect 3X internal fans, how should I connect them & how many times can I split the main power cord?

With the power supply you plan on getting, a 350 watt enermax I assume, you will have enough connectors to
connect everything you have. AND, you should throw in a slot fan as well....to go under your video card. They only
cost about $10. And if you are a fan lover like me, a hard drive fan too.

...I JUST installed my new Enermax 365-ve (fc), and it has at least 8 four-pin connectors: 4 on the first chain, and 2
other chains, with 2 four-pin connectors and 1 floppy drive connector each. It also has a connector for one of
the powersupply fans to be monitored by the motherboard. And a little heat sensor too...

It is putting out steady voltage on my P4 northwoods 1.6@2.1 something...with a setup similar to yours, but with 2 more fans.
Personally, I think the 350 would be fine. Hope this helps...
