Keep Windows 7 icon cache between reboots and shutdowns

I have a lot of games installed and keep all of the shortcuts under Games in the Windows start menu. It can take up to 5 seconds before Windows loads all of the icons after opening the start menu folder. Is there a way to preserve the icon cache between reboots and system shutdowns?
