The closet I have been is Washington Island Wisconsin. (One of the oldest and biggest Icelandic cultural enclaves outside of Iceland.)
 
Population within the city limits isn't as useful as Metropolitan Statistical Area, especially for sprawling metropolises like NYC and LA. For example, you say LA has 4 million people, but the LA metro area is over 18 million, and that's a pretty big difference.

Actually think I flown there in the sim doing my Euro tour. It was on the way back going toward Labrador. I added the military base there. If I can remember right it was a strategic point during WWII.
