So got my Asus 280x before the holidays, and it started corrupting on me. RMA card will be here soon, but now that I've had time to think about it, I keep debating selling it and waiting for the 290s to level out in price.

I play on 3x1080p screens in Eyefinity when it works. The non-reference 290s look pretty good so far, would it be worth it to upgrade to one of them? I'm not expecting to make a crazy profit off the card given seller fees, so still looking at +$100-150 to switch.

Funny enough, I dug up an old GTX260 to hold me over because I already sold my 6950. This thing does way better than I thought it would, I haven't had to drop out of 1080p res yet (granted on pretty low settings depending on the game)

Thanks for the input.

I think you will have to wait at least a few months before you can get a non-reference 290 for only $100-150 more after selling the 280x. Not worth the upgrade for a marginal performance increase in my opinion.

Stick with the 280x. It should last you a couple of years, or at least until the next worthwhile generation comes out. Hawaii (290s) has been a disappointment so far if you ask me. Only thing keeping the prices up is short supply and extremely high demand due to scrypt mining.
