I just got an ad on my browser, it was one of those Comcast You've been chosen for an award ads.

I've been getting a fair amount of them, across platforms, android, Mac, ios.

Is it possible that my router has been compromised? You know, like how there was a huge DDOS attack recently using DVR's and such, could the same be true of my router?

Getting ads is normal. Are you doing anything to block them?

if those http injections are coming from your ISP they will be alittle harder to block.

Yeah, I have heard about Comcast's packet injection crap. I don't get any ADs and I have Comcast though. I guess it might be a regional thing. The only way to block it is via two possible solutions that I know of.

A) A deep packet inspection firewall

B) Use VPN.AC's DD-WRT settings using the DD-WRT third part firmware for a DD-WRT compatible router and use nothing but an encrypted VPN connection.

That sucks. I get irritated when I get Roadrunner search results when I've most definitely Googled something. That usually when I forget to change my DNS settings after troubleshooting network connectivity issues. I use OpenDNS as the DNS server on my main rig. I have so for years. Using Time Warner's default DNS gets you whatever they want to serve up to you. Still nothing as malicious as that. Using Firefox/Adblock/Adblock Pop-up Blocker/uBlock Origin. I also use Greasemonky for something else. Not sure what it is.
