I've been getting a little annoyed by one of my memory sticks drying again. one has died before and I've had to RMA them I usually cross-ship where I pay for the memory upfront than they send me memory than when I receive it i send my memory back. which works pretty well but I am sick of it dying this is the second time. I have to pay upfront $413.17 which isn't even what I bought the stuff for but that is there MSRP which they refund back but still.
I want to know the real cause of my memory dying lately I've been thinking heat I've never overvolted it but I think it may just be running to hot and killing the memory and it's always one dying never both.
if heat is the answer I am thinking about getting a pair of Thermalright HR-07's which would void the warranty but if they stopped dying I'd be happy. the problem is with how many times the memory has died so far I don't have much trust in voiding the warranty by installing some HR-07's
I looked into some more aftermarket ram coolers seems like most of them are pair of 60mm fans blowing down on the ram sticks which I am not fond of. I try to keep a quiet PC and I can't do so with small fans at high rpms ( annoying ringing sound ).
well I've just blabbed for probably to long causing lazzy people not to read it
in the end what should I do?
