Well,

It's about that time again. As you can see by my thread, I've got some older components but I'm not sure if going newer would gain me anything. Thoughts?

Specifically, I'm looking at upgrading my P6Tv2 as those older i7 chips run hot and draw lots of current. So I'm looking for anyone who has made the move and if they feel it was worth it (real world). I'm not concerned with benchmarks.

Real world no since it is still a viable CPU, benchmarks and efficiency yes. If it is for gaming performance GTX285 is getting long on the tooth and the CPU can handle the newest cards. Ultimately it is your decision.
