Keep losing sound from front left speaker

I have a set of M-audio LX4s in 5.1 surround with a sub hooked up to a Sound Blaster Z card. Every other day or so, I'll notice that there's no audio coming from the front left speaker.

If I twist the L\R plug in the jack on the Sound Blaster Z, the sound comes back no problem. I've tried replacing the cable, and making sure the Sound Blaster Z is properly seated in the port, but to no avail. Do I have a bad jack on the Z?
 
A cracked solder joint on the female port could exhibit this fault. I would pull the card and examine that joint carefully under a magnifying glass.
 
Well it only had a 1 year warranty and it's 1.5 years old so I guess I'll be buying another one. Sigh.
