Keep losing my cable connection

I keep losing my cable connection? Running xp home. Everything is fine then all of a sudden no internet. I reboot the computer and it seems to work again for a while. The connection could be fine for a day or a couple of minutes? Any idea what mmay be wrong?

Such as...conneciton to modem, router involved? Connection to router? IP Address (full, althogh may want to XX out a single octet of public IP), including gateway and DNS.

To start with, I would always start by pinging the default gateway, then the DNS servers (by IP) and then an web site (by IP, write down beforehand) and website by name.

THen you can see where the drop is at easier.
 
Thanks for the reply🙂 I'm using a hub to the cable modem. I will try the pinging procedure next time I disconnect🙂
