For some reason, i keep losing connection to the net and have to reboot to get my cable modem connected to the net again...what's going on? it just happens randomly... any ideas?
Cable-modem networks sometimes have brown-outs due to bad equipment. Happened to me about a month ago and it's just now finally fixed completely. My connection would drop every 1 to 10 minutes, and I'd have to disconnect and reconnect using Windows Networking (in XP). If you're using Windows 2000 or XP you can reset the connection without rebooting. I'd call your cable internet provider and tell them what's going on, and the problem may be on their end. If it is, ask for credit (at least half of the bill) because of the drop in service.
