hey guys how is it going? Im fine and you? Kool.

I just got the Abit IP35 Pro replaced my MSI Platium P6N board due to a little incident while trying to remove tuniq back bracket. (If you dont know what im talking about dont ask) :)

Anywho...

I'm using Evga Geforce 8800 GTS (G92) right now and thinking going crossfire on the IP35 Pro. I've been using Nvidia Card all my life and don't really know anything about ATI to pick best crossfire cards. I would google on it but there's just too much crap out there.

Either keep GTS or go for Crossfire opinion is very welcome , thansk in advance.

What rez is your monitor?

I like the idea of Crossfire sorta, but considering how inconsistently it scales in games (very well in some; terrible or non-existent in others), i wouldn't recommend it yet.

I'd say keep the GTS.

are you "itching" to upgrade?
What resolution do you game at
--you do know that Nvidia has a GX2 released soon ... r700 is a few months away and evidently next gen NVIDIA is in the Fall?

You can use 2x3870x2 - Quad Crossfire as their "flagship" or even 4x 3870 or mix and match with AMD :p
i have FrankenFire - 2900xt and oc'd 2900P ... last gen Xfire .. and they play very nice together

Keep the GTS. I'd save the money for something else (like a sweet shotgun or handgun).

Keep that G92 8800GTS and save your $200 for this fall (hopefully) when it will make a difference.

BTW, it looks like the 9800GTX is nothing but an 8800GTS with fast GDDR4 for slightly improved memory bandwidth (DailyTech).

Which game is taxing your 8800GTS at 16x10 resolution? If you say 'Crysis' you gotta realize that crossfire 3870s won't be able to run it at 30+ fps either.

I know the upgrade itch well, but in this case it's just absolutely not worth doing. I know it sucks having to sit on that wallet bulging with cash and 1.5 year old tech growing a beard in your rig, but there's absolutely nothing better out right now. Gotta keep waiting, waiting. Anticipating.

He's got a G92, so it's really 0.5 old tech... Don't upgrade, there is nothing that will really touch your GTS besides something insanely expensive.
