keep getting dropped from wireless

hey.. i have a netgear usb adapter, and my friend has a lynksis pci card, both on a newtork with a lynksis router. for some reason, i keep getting kicked off and get a "wireless network unavaliable" message. sometimes it'll be stable, sometimes it'll boot me off again and again. is this soley a signal strength problem, and do i need a pci card w/antenna to help? or is there something else i may be missing.. thanks

Check that you're running the best router firmware too - my Linksys WiFi used to barf periodically and restart itself. The problem was resolved in a later revision.

If your in XP make sure your power settings don't turn off the wireless

Also if your in XP make sure 802.1x authentication is off.
