Keep Galaxy S2 or buy iPhone 4s?

I found a pretty good deal on a 16GB Black iPhone 4s for $450. I currently own the S2, which i'm pretty happy with, but I have the itch for iOS again. I already own an iPad 2, so it'd be nice to "sync up" apps. Am I crazy for wanting to switch?

Not crazy at all, back when I could afford it I use to switch cell phones at least 3 times a year. I get bored easily, now all that keeps me with my EVO 4G is lack of funds plus roms like MIUI that can make it seem like a new phone.

If you like changing it up every once in awhile, stick with the Android device. Try MIUI, ICS is coming, ect. If you really want to sync apps, then get the iphone and be done with it.

Buy the 4S and check how you like it. If you don't want it then sell it. Can't you sell it for like $550+?

It would seem like a wasted investment if you dropped $200 for the S2, than dropped another $450 for the iPhone, when you could have waited a little longer and got the iPhone for $200. It's your money, so I can't tell you that you are wasting it, cause different things make different people happy. I will tell you this. I have an Epic 4g, and an EVO 4g. My gf has the iPhone 4s. It is a nice little phone, but I would not pay $450 for it, especially being used to a bigger screen. I bought the Epic with contract for $200. It was not a very good phone, so I bought a used EVO for $175. The evo battery situation got tiring, and the Epic developers have come a long way since I switched to the EVO, so I am back on it and loving it.

I will have to see though. My contract comes up around this time next year when we might be seeing a new iPhone. For me, going to iOS is like going from windows to iOS. It is the small things you notice after you have been with it for a while. If the iPhone has a bigger screen, it is quite possible I will give it a shot.

I'll be contrarian. If you want to go back to iOS, go back to iOS. 🙂

You should be able to sell your SGS2 for about the same price as the iPhone 4S ($450) which means it's a wash. If you have buyers remorse on the 4S, iPhone 4S's are upwards of $550 on Ebay used, so you can make money getting rid of it. So either way you win. If you keep it, you got a 4S for free (sell SGS2 for ~$450 on Ebay). If you change your mind you should have no problem getting your money back selling the 4S on Craigslist or Ebay, and then you can buy another SGS2 for about the same amount on Ebay or Craigslist or otherwise. I see it as a money-neutral transaction - or maybe even making some money - so then do whatever you want.

I have a SGS2 and my wife a 4s. They're really similar in most aspects. OS choice and size are the biggest differences, and these are largely personal preference. The forum can't really make this decision for you.

Honestly I'd just keep the S2 and wait until the next iPhone release before making any changes, but if you really want to go back, as other posters have pointed out you can probably get the 4S without too much out of pocket cost if you sell the S2.

Syncing apps between the iPhone and iPad is overrated. iPhone apps look like crap on the iPad. If you want the iPhone, do it to just get access to apps.

Depends on what you like better. The syncing of apps between my iPad and phone was the biggest reason I switched from Android to iOS. Two app stores was a pain in the rear and for ME and MY uses no android tablet touches the iPad 2.
