Keep FAT32 Partition?

Due to a problem with my CDR, I am unable to burn my Mp3s etc to CDs...and am installing Win2k. I've created a FAT32 partition to keep these on, and plan to format the system partition and install win2k on an NTFS partition. Would leaving the MP3s on the FAT32 partition cause any performance issues when listening to mp3s?

Then only partition I have had as NTFS has been my windows one, all my games, mp3's, etc have all been FAT32, and that's because I used to have windows98 as well. If you're not sure, leaving them as fat won't harm or slow down anything.
