I received my phone bill, and noticed that it was higher than it usually is. I pulled it up to check it, and at the very bottom of the bill was a 14.95 charge from American Evoice.
I did a Google search for this company, and found out that many people have been the victim of fraudulent charges from this company. They claim that you (or your spouse) sign up for their services through a website, and then somehow attach their charges to your phone bill (I have no idea how or why AT&T and the other phone companies allow this).
Fortunately, I contacted the company (at least they were nice enough to put their 800 number on my bill), and they agreed to cancel the service and refund the charges. Some of the other victims of this scam claim they have had difficulties with contacting the company.
