KDS XF-9B for $127, Should I get it?

Yup. There awesome monitors, I got mines from walmart for about $100 (friend gets 15% employee discount😀).

Definitely go for it. Sure wouldn't have paid $175 for my Samsung SyncMaster 950b 19" CRT that isn't even flat had I known that flatscreen 19" were available for this cheap :Q

It's a great mon however if you useing linux stay away from it. I've done everything I know how to do to make the mon work right on linux and have failed. It works ok on 800 by 600 but above that linux does not give it the right khz and hz. I've tried settings these my self and still can't get it to work right. My friend has the 17 inch model and he has the same probs with his 1024 res on up. If anyone can help me with this prob then please do. I been useing windows of late because of this prob!

Linux MDK 9.1
KDS XF-9B
MSI Geforce 4 mx 440 with the 8x agp
VIA KT400 chipset

AMD base.

My video card is deteced and works perfect. I placed a old 13 inch HP mon on the system and it works perfect. So I do know it's the mon.

LOL! Damn you and this thread...I jut bought one from their website! :Q😉

It came to $152 shipped (Free). There are no Office Depots in my state, so I had to order online. I noticed while browsing their flyer, it had a $30 mail-in rebate in store...can I still do that since I bought online. If so, where do I get the rebate form?

🙂

Edit: Found the rebate form...🙂

This is crazy....

If you wanted the 17" version, it also has a $30 MIR, and qualifies for the $20 or $100 coupon too!

$118.38 - $20 + free shipping =$98.38 - $30 MIR = $68.38!!! Jeez... :Q

KDS has one of the best warranties out there...3 year and they ship first and pay for pickup.

Yep, the first time is free shipping and pickup. The 2nd time you gotta pay for the shipping your self.

They sent me 2 dead monitors one after the other. Since i didnt feel like paying 25 again for the shipping, i drove there my self and returned the third monitor.

Dang 30 bucks for 17inch??? Well I been useing KDS mons for 4 years now and have 4 of them and they all still work perfectly. I know some ppl are very unlucky and that has to suck and all. Most of my friends "localy" also own KDS mons and they work great for them too. Also if your useing a emachiane I notice there mons are made by KDS. All thoe very low quly KDS I might add. I notice this when I was going thrue windows xp on my dad's EM and the mon said it was a KDS with some model number after it.

PS)Finaly got my mom working on linux. I have to be the most pathic dumb ass to have miss one stupid setting, lmao!

I'm not positive, but I believe the max refresh @ 1280 x 1024 is 100hz...they suggest the optimal res setting as 1280 x 1024 @ 85hz. Mine will be here tomorrow and I'll let you know for sure..

CRT monitors don't really have a "native" resolution...that is strictly an LCD thing. 🙂

Also, on a side note for everyone, I found out through some research that the XF-9B 19" uses a different tube than the other XF models..the XF-9E and the XF-9P (discontinued). From what I can tell, it uses a Samsung Dynaflat tube. 🙂
