I found this at Sams Club Link Here
I have been waiting for notebooks with DVD and a decent processor to become available. The million dollar question is to buy this one or wait for the new AMD chips for notebooks to come out and see what they do to prices. I prefer AMD over Intel, by far...but this is a good price! Better than any similar system on pricewatch, that I can find.

Don't these notebooks use regular PC cpu chips instead of mobile ones? If that's the case, then heat is going to be a big problem. But if not, then this is a pretty sweet deal.

If in the description of the processor it doesn't mention speedstep than the processor is a desktop version and it's gonna be HOT and have a short battery life.

I just called KDS in California. Their website does not give too much detail. The guy I spoke with told me that it is in fact a MOBILE PIII 800. However, the battery life, lithium Ion, is 1.5 hours. I thought that was a little short. He explained that all the PIII 700 and 800 mobile processors suck the life out of batteries right now and that a solution is being worked on. One of the reasons I wanted a laptop with DVD was to watch a movie (uncensored) during an international flight. Guess this one will not be the solution for me!
Ok.....
Cheers
