1) It didn't appear to have very much (if any) anti-glare coating. >>
I have this monitor connected to my seldom used P166 - this is a very fair assessment. I wonder if I could pick up a glare-coating kit somewhere, though...

2) The stand looks like it would completely collapse if any type of pressure or stress is put on the monitor (eg., Earthquake in SoCal). >>
Well, I don't know about that. It's a sturdy little base but doesn't hook in extremely securely on installation (you attach it yourself). Giving it the old tilt'n'whirl test produced no problems, though.
Clear picture, tiny bit of curvature if you're really looking for it. A nice performer all-around in my opinion. Goes up to a resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 60 Mhz, at least 85 Mhz for each of the lower resolutions. The model I have is not branded at all on the front side, but the plate on the rear reads KDS K-700. My other 17" is acting up a little so I'll switch to this one for a while, I think.
The monitor was priced at ~$230 CDN, no rebate, when I happened into Office Depot and bought it. Guess I'll have to drop in again and ask for the rebate form...and for that price, it's pretty unbeatable.
