This 0.27mm 17" monitor was just what I wanted for my daughter's system, with a price of $109 with MIR. The MIR is $60, and it says it's effective 1/7-1/13 (when I got it) AND 1/21-1/27. Looks great at 1024x768 and 85Hz.

Monitor info: K-700

You can get the rebate form in the store by asking for it and being patient...they have pads of them. The deal is off right now, so the link to the PDF form is not active on the KDS site. When it gets turned on this weekend that link should come up for the Office Depot MIR again.

I was checking this monitor out at OD the other day and had two observations:

1) It didn't appear to have very much (if any) anti-glare coating.

2) The stand looks like it would completely collapse if any type of pressure or stress is put on the monitor (eg., Earthquake in SoCal).

Incidentally, I grabbed a few of the rebate forms (just in case). Looking at it right now, this one is a $50 rebate and it is valid for purchases made 12/17/00 - 12/23/00 or for purchases made 1/7/01 - 1/20/01.

That's interesting that there are apparently two rebate forms out there. I bet when 1/21 rolls around, the price will go back up to $199.

(Oh, and sorry, I don't own a scanner).

This is just a reminder that, while the ad says $50 MIR, the form available in the store that I received says $60 for the MIR.

I have this monitor connected to my seldom used P166 - this is a very fair assessment. I wonder if I could pick up a glare-coating kit somewhere, though...

Well, I don't know about that. It's a sturdy little base but doesn't hook in extremely securely on installation (you attach it yourself). Giving it the old tilt'n'whirl test produced no problems, though.

Clear picture, tiny bit of curvature if you're really looking for it. A nice performer all-around in my opinion. Goes up to a resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 60 Mhz, at least 85 Mhz for each of the lower resolutions. The model I have is not branded at all on the front side, but the plate on the rear reads KDS K-700. My other 17" is acting up a little so I'll switch to this one for a while, I think.

The monitor was priced at ~$230 CDN, no rebate, when I happened into Office Depot and bought it. Guess I'll have to drop in again and ask for the rebate form...and for that price, it's pretty unbeatable. :)

Whatever happened to this?

I wanted to pick one of these up, but the rebate is not available on the rebate page, and my OD B&M doesn't have the rebate either...
