KDS AV-195TF burning out ?

the top left of my KDS monitor's recently gone bad. was wondering what could be causing it, if anyone knows? the color's completely washed out, it's not as noticeable unless you compare it with the rest of the screen in the same color. for example if i set my entire background to red you can see how the top left has become very faded and orangey, the rest it deep red which is fine.

should i call up KDS, or is there anything i can do? perhaps it's the cable? I'd hate to pay shipping for this monitor, ugh

Do you have any magnets, power supplies, or anything that runs power near your monitor?

On my 17", I noticed that the DC converter for my DTT3500 speakers were causing discoloration and flickering. A simple move of the converter fixed my problems.

One more thing, check the connection between your video card and your monitor.

cable's tight, and i don't see anything that would cause the distortion

i checked the beforehand, because that's exactly what it looks like, as if a magnet was right there

Have you tried Degaussing it?

If you look at your menu buttons like a compass, the Degauss button would be the one towards the West end. 🙂

KDS seems to have problems with that happening moreso then other monitors. I guess KDS should improve their QC and save themselves a lot of RMAs because other than that, I think KDS monitors are great.

Their tech support and return policy is very good so you should have no problems getting a replacement.

Their tech support and returns are so good because they know everything they build is prone to break.

They make profit because some people don't wanna bother returning their defective product. Almost every KDS product I or anyone I have known has had, has broke. Some of the replacments even come broke...

KDS uses cheap components, but they stand behind their cheap components... A very strange company.

Call them up. I'm not sure of how long past when you bought it, but I know within 90 days that you get a new one next day and they pay shipping for both monitors.
