Hello can someone please walk me through how to get the Mercata discount and the MSN passport saving??? I am a newbie to this, especially Mercata and the "power buy." This 19in FD Trinitron is very enticing since I just bought a Sony E200 17in FD Trinitron from Onvia. This E200 is the 2nd replacement monitor and its picture is still FUZZY. I've tried to trouble shoot this problem by taking my PC down to local shops to hook up to other E200s, and they too show up fuzzy. It's like the convergence is messed up even though the setting is set correctly. Currently this E200 is sitting at my house and I don't know if I should arrange for a return AGAIN with Onvia. If it's my videocards then why do both my machines at my house show up fuzzy? One has a Voodoo3 2000 PCI and the other an ATI Rage128 32MB AGP, both excellent 2D cards. Has anyone here encoutnered similar problems???

If i can get this KDS 19in FD Trinitron for this price then I think I should definitely go this way and return the Sony E200. That's why I need to know ASAP! Please someone help me out~ I greatly appreciate your time!

lostatlantis, unfortunately, the mercata discount is only available if you joined by November 17. You might want to try rossman's advice and call mercata customer service. Check out his post for the suggestion.

I think those specs are outdated. There seems a revision on this monitor. I got mine in August from Onvia.com for $375 and was pleasantly surprised that it was TCO 99 compliant and had a maximum resolution of 1920x1440 at 73hz. Goes up to 88hz at 1600x1200. The best bang for you buck monitor out there. Is it as crisp as the 19" Sony G400. IMHO, no. But it comes close and the screen is perfectly flat. BTW, I had the pleasure of seeing some games at 1920x1440 on my V5 5500 on this monitor and the detail was amazing. No need for FSAA at this resolution. I know that the only card out there that has the fillrate power for 1920x1440x32 is a Geforce 2 Ultra overclocked to 250/500. Some guy on the nvidia newsgroup is saying that most of his games, including Q3A, run between 30-45fps at 2048x1536x32 on his Ultra.

I got my 195TF from Mercata on Tuesday and am a bit disappointed.

Good - No major geometry problems; excellent screen regulation; no "streakiness" like some
aperture grilles exhibit.

Bad - Colors lack that "pop", they are washed out; blurry/poorly focused; white is not white
enough; quite a bit of Moire; some overshoot also.

And what an absolutely filthy screen - spent well over an hour getting it perfectly clean. :|

Bottomline, the 195TF is no where near the Sony G400 though ... wish I could get one delivered in one piece. :(
