kdenlive - fade to alpha not black, how?

Red Squirrel

No Lifer
This should be simple but I'm pulling my hair trying to figure this out. I have two clips one on top of each other. I want to set one clip to say, 50% alpha, so the other clip can be seen under it. I also want to alter this % throughout the clip, like fade in and out. How do I do this? I'm not finding much on google, only stuff about blue screen, I don't want to do blue screen, I just want to fade the entire clip at a specific percentage at a specific time. Same way you would do with audio in a program like audacity but with video.
