KDE 3.0.2 for Mandrake, bugs squashed and made

Im running (at home) Mandrake Linux with KDE 3.0.2. When I try to run Konquer (sp) I can surf and everything, but when I get to a site containing flash it tries to make to D/L it when I already have it and it is recorded in my Plugins list as being there, yet it wont play Flash files. BTW it would in KDE 2.2.2 (what I upgraded from). The problem is not in the flash files, because when I run Mozilla It works just fine. For a little more info, when I run as Root and try to run a site with flash I get an error saying (cant remember completely) Mime type not Found octet-stream. Then after that it says, No mime installed (or something to that effect in a new error window). Now I might have to just live with it and go Mozilla, but I really just want the other people in my family to be able to just click on the world and have it work without having to find it. Also Tux Racer does not work if that helps. when installing KDE 3.0.2 i installed the Qt file first, then The libarts file, then the Arts file, then the LibKDE3, then the KDEBase file and tested it. did not work when I tested it, so I installed most of the other goodies (addons, toys, games, but non of the Devel stuff cause I didnt want it) Any clues?
