With a maximum budget of $385mil, I guess the government has some solid intel that we are about to be overrun by a massive wave of illegals crossing the borders. And gee, if the plans and funding are already in place anyway, it would be pretty simple to lock up other groups that might be a threat on a whim. I'd like GWB to explain this use of tax dollars to all of us.
KBR announced today that its Government and Infrastructure division has been awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the Department of Homeland Security?s (DHS) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities in the event of an emergency.
The contract, which is effective immediately, provides for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities to augment existing ICE Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Program facilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs. The contingency support contract provides for planning and, if required, initiation of specific engineering, construction and logistics support tasks to establish, operate and maintain one or more expansion facilities.
