I need help.

When I try to start AI Suite I now get a prompt that says "the remote procedure call failed."

I assume this is because AI Suite is now incompatible with the new CPU security?

Ugh. No fan control now.

Same thing happened on my Gigabyte Z170 motherboard. I lost the ability to set a fan profile, and their apps just crashed over and over.
After trying to get it to work for over 9 months, I just gave up. Then one day they added the ability to do fan profiles in the UEFI with a major BIOS update, and I've never installed motherboard utilities ever again.

Your Asus board should allow you to configure your fans in the UEFI, I know I can on my son's Asus Z97 motherboard.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling if that helps.
Sometimes it does. It can also be that you have to wait for an update from asus.

edit:
Check if the remote procedure service is running.
stop and start it after reinstalling the asus suite.

ASUS's software has always been a PITA.

One of these days they will update it, and fix the darn bugs.

Well, it worked fine until this update. Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled. No love.

I never liked those motherboard manufacturer utilities. There is always something.

Yeah. Its usually fun to play around with, but quality/polish always seem to be lacking. I vastly prefer BIOS/UEFI fan control, as it is OS independent. Manufacturer utilities are usually Windows only.
