Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2975719) keeps appearing in my list of Windows Updates.

Able to download/apply it, then Windows take a long time to shut down and come back up. When it does, I get the notification that the same update is available for download.

Checking history, it shows the update failed.

Anyway of making this update stick ?

look for and uninstall the first version of the patch.

There were 3 updates that were problematic. I only installed one of them and it made my system unstable and would randomly reboot itself.

I uninstalled it and my system was back to normal. Then I noticed a revised version on windows update and installed it. Everything seems stable.

Don't have KB 2982791, KB 2970228, KB 2975719 or KB 2975331 installed. Nothing for me to remove. What now ?

Spoke to Microsoft, the people who made this pos operating system. After giving those fuckers my credit card for support and trying several things, the resolve was to ignore the update till we figure this thing out.

Thanks Microshit.
