Kazaa

Just got this....

"COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT WARNING:
It appears that you are offering copyrighted music to others from your computer. Distributing or downloading copyrighted music on the Internet without permission from the copyright owner is ILLEGAL. It hurts songwriters who create and musicians who perform the music you love, and all the other people who bring you music.

When you break the law, you risk legal penalties. There is a simple way to avoid that risk: DON'T STEAL MUSIC, either by offering it to others to copy or downloading it on a "file-sharing" system like this.

When you offer music on these systems, you are not anonymous and you can easily be identified. You also may have unlocked and exposed your computer and your private files to anyone on the Internet. Don't take these chances. Disable the share feature or uninstall your "file-sharing" software. For more information on how, go to http://www.musicunited.net/5_takeoff.html.

This warning comes from artists, songwriters, musicians, music publishers, record labels and hundreds of thousands of people who work at creating and distributing the music you enjoy. We are unable to receive direct replies to this message. For more information about this Copyright Warning, go to www.musicunited.net."

the link is fine except for the . at the end of the URL 😉 delete it and you'll be able to read the page 🙂

The RIAA is trying to scare people into not trading music. They aren't going to come after you. It's just a scare tactic.

No because I only leech and never share🙂
yep yep. i have it in my settings set to '0' uploads, and im also a k-lite master! 😀

turned my messaging off also. just let me get what i need, and that'll be all. dont need to be having conversations.

Ha! My roomate just got this message yesterday. I thought it was quite funny. All it's going to do is scare all the over paranoid people from sharing. Does anyone really think that they are going to go after the 3 million people or so that are connected to kazaa at any given time?

No but they can go after the people who form the "center" of Kazaa, ie the people who have something like 4000+ songs or who have more than 20 dls running at once.

Yeah, but if I'm not mistaken, the new Kazaa lite lets you hide your shared files list while still sharing, for the few people that are legitmately worried about it. And, I don't see how they could monitor how many downloads you have running at any given time, unless every one of them was dl'ing off of one of their computers.
