kazaa (lite) is the next audiogalaxy!

though nothing out there beats audiogalaxy or napster here's why kazaalite is the one for now:

1) WinMX - not popular enough, seems limited
2) DC (Direct Connect) - can only connect to 1 hub (searching is limited)
3) eDonkey - mainly for movies ...
4) Blubster - can't get it to work behind a router

so.... that about sums it up. Somebody should make an audiogalaxy clone

Technically with DC, you can hop to multiple hubs, but not remain on more than one at a time. BFD...queue up your DLs and jump to the next hub. I found a good hub (minimum 80 gig) where i don't need to hop to other hubs. And kazaa always 0wned. AG was good for complete albums and rare music.

My point was that most of what one finds on Kazaa is 128. When I leave my CD's in the car I will often just try to find the mp3's of the songs I want on Kazaa, but if I can only find 128 (as is often the case on Kazaa) I'm forced to get off my ass.

192 can usually be found quite easily on kazaa lite (though I agree the majority is 128kbps JUNK)...but the quality rips from respected groups are usually available.

Yeah AG was the best, nothing beat it. But napster was a bloody mess after all the n00bs came in and drove it to the ground. I dont know bout kazaa lite, i dont use it much but winmx is ok but just painful to find songs. DC is way to stupid, its only good for stuff that ur not really looking for but wouldnt mind downloading. edonky, blubster, and the rest of them i dont use em but im guessing their prolly pretty limited.

Theres a new KaZaA out, 1.7.2, and theres an addon called Diet K (not associated), that removes advertisements and spyware, hides annoying buttons, and can improve search results. I think the actual program is a minor factor in deciding what makes a good file sharing program. It's the people that matter. I hop on KaZaA and see 1,880,617 users, sharing 2,148,032GB. About a third are leechers but then I remember kazaa's ability to download files from multiple sources, allow flexable search options, and no share minimum.
