Kazaa Download Speeds

Why am I getting such horrible download speeds? Is it because I am connecting to people with modems or is there something more sinister?

6kb/s on a cable modem just seems a waste...

Is this happening on all files? It might have something to do with the "Bandwidth" number next to the user name. I'm getting 6.5 kb/s on my dialup !

Many people cap their upload speed. Plus, you are limited by the upload speed of the person with the file, and on cable it's not that fast.

I guess it is the files I am choosing. I got 13 on one and 2 on another. Downloading one at a time or ten at a time doesn't make a difference.

Check the bandwidth before downloading. If it says 350+ then you will get a good download. Make sure to right click on the file often and keep hitting "download from more sources".

Something i noticed that worked sometimes; When I hit "download from more sources" it doesnt go that much faster, so I go back to the search page and re do the search. It seems to help if there are enough sources.
