Kawaks multiplayer

Me and some friends of mine felt like playing some old arcade games recently so i fired up kawaks and tried some games which i know are 3-4 players but it wouldn't let me play with more than 2 players in any of the games. I've got all the controllers setup and everything, but the games themselves don't even seem to acknowledge that they are 3-4 players. I feel like there's some option somewhere i have to enable so 3-4 players can play along. I looked around the program real good though and couldn't find anything. Any ideas?
