That was said early in the day yesterday, in response to a preposterous troll thread. Obviously I was kidding.

I've said many times, and I will continue to say, that I wish President Bush and America success in his second term. I congratulate his supporters, including you.

As you well know, you repeatedly expressed your desire to see Sen Kerry impeached, were he elected President. I thought, and continue to think, that was an incredibly selfish, unpatriotic instinct. I have, nevertheless, removed that quote from my sig, because I want both sides to engage in less partisan invective, not more.

Sen Kerry showed, I think, great dignity and love for his country in his concession speech. I hope that theme permeates the debate on both sides of the aisle in the months and years to come.

You've won. You won't get a President Kerry, even if that means keeping him as one of your senators. I encourage you to enjoy your victory and get out and try to make your country better, not worse.
