Anybody remember in 2000 when NBC finally announced Bush won Florida at about 4:00 in the morning? Tom Brokaw annouces it and Katie doesnt say much except "I am out of here". Gets up like a child who didnt get her way and leaves the set mid filming. Tom tries to cover for her by being nice and saying she is leaving.

I see they put her back on the election crew. If Bush wins do you think she will throw another temper tantrum like she did in 2000? Or will she be more reserved?

btw does anybody have that video? It was hilarious. I was sitting there laughing at the dumb chick.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but no, I don't think that will happen, because Kerry will have this one locked up before my (or, coincidentally, Katie's) bedtime.

I'd like to see that video. Good for her for not supporting the selection that brought us all this terror in the past four years.

Dude, anyone who'd post such a vapid thread has no business critiquing another person's intellect. In any case, it's going to be strictly an academic question, since Kerry will layeth down the smack tonight.

Didn't find a video, only this account: http://www.vgg.com/tp/tp_111300_postvote2000.html

Around 4 am Katie Couric was whining on-camera about how little sleep she would get before having to wake up to do the morning show. She finally walked off the set, the camera zooming in to hide her abrupt depature, trailing her microphone wires. Tom Brokaw grabbed at the wires and said, "The truth is out -- Katie Couric is a robot."

:cookie:.

Why don't you add a "Who's gives a rat" option to your poll? That will save others the trouble of giving you cookies.

I think we were all a bit sick and tired of that race at that time much like some of us are now.

Does it occur to anyone that Ms. Couric has to be on the set of her real job (the Today show),
at about 4 am?

She had probably been up 24 hours straight commenting on the election by that point.
She was probably so releived that somebody had been announced as winner at that point,
that her brain just shut down and she went to find someplace to crash.

If I added an option like that. Then i wouldnt get the desired result of my poll.

I didnt get to watch her this time around. But if anybody has video of the childlike performance in 2000. I would love to see it again.

Nothing wrong with optimism!

You'll note that my posts in regard to the outcome have been, I think, sportsmanlike and congratulatory, because I value my country more than any partisan grudge.

I agree DonVito....you've definately been one of the more calm, cool and collected of the Kerry supporters.

You've earned this Libertarian's respect. :)

Eh.... I prefer Ann Curry myself ;)

Anyways, I'm sure quite a few news casters will throw a little bit of a fit. I'm more interested in seeing some of the celebrities who spout off, but give little substance behind their arguments. Although I think Bush losing and Toby Keith throwing a fit would have been funnier. ;)
