Katherine has given to much to this country and to science. Katherine Johnson, a pioneering black mathematician who helped NASA launch men to the moon, died Monday at 101. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama in 2015. The movie Hidden Figures was based on her work. Suggested viewing.

Absolutely amazing woman and an amazing life she led. Her involvement in some of the most pivotal moments in space exploration is incredible. That she lived to such an age is fitting for someone like her.

There's someone who deserved the medal of freedom.

And the movie is amazing. Really emphasizes how racism holds the country back.
Contrast that to Rush Limbaugh. Standards changed a little under Trump.

BTW - No statement from the White House to date. I guess they figured a genius black women doesn't deserve a mention. Too busy tweeting trying to get Roger Stone freed and Andrew McCabe jailed
