She signed with the same guy that signs Taylor Hicks. So I guess there will be 2 or more winners of American Idol from now on :thumbsdown:

Doesn't that happen every time?

I don't know if they've improved the way they do the voting on the final round, but my understanding is that at least the first few times both numbers were at max capacity during the entire voting period - so the winner would be determined by whose fans hung up the fastest. Who really knows who would have won if everyone who wanted to vote was able to.

I just think its stupid to say you have one winner when you have more than one. Either say you have multiple winners or fix the system IMHO.

Yep. Both Kelly Clarkson and Afro Boy signed contracts. Both Reuben and Clay signed contracts. Both of last year's winners (can't remember their names) signed contracts.

Whether you hear from them again or not is a completely different story. Only Kelly Clarkson has had any real success and that was after her AI contract ended.

Heh..I don't listed to country so that's why I haven't heard her. She has had success though looking at her Wiki entry.

Heh...I lived in Corpus Christi, TX my last three years of high school. Still never really grew on me. 😀 Though I did like "God Blessed Texas" by Little Texas.

Don't think so... it comes down to whose fans have the most auto-dialers. If they limited it to 5 votes per phone line then it would be moderately less absurd. Right now for all we know it could be 200 fans using autodialers that are deciding the vast majority of results.
