How come I wasn't able to find one of these when i was in Japan for a steal? I would love one of these displayed in my house.

If you're going to get a display sword, what does it matter if it is damascus steel, 420 steel or aluminum alloy?

I'd say if you were getting a display sword, get a cheap one . . . they look the same if it's just going to sit there all day.

I can't get a cheap sword. I am into the Japanese culture and want an authentic sword. Heck I get a cheap sword to practice with.

You don't practice with a sword, you practice with a bokken, did you get to see the prices, some are up to the $25K for just the blade.... holly crap.

Especially for a display, I think damascus makes a difference.

Those blades have alot of curve. Certainly look ugly. I bet they suck to use too. That ken is cool though.

What are you, an idiot? Katanas are SUPPOSED to have curves - that's what gives them additional power to cut - look at other one-edged swords, they most likely are curved as well.

Talk about $$$ for a sword . . . $7200, but read this and find out why.

ARE YOU AN IDIOT???? There are different degrees of curving that a blade can have. Those katanas look too curved.

if you were into japanese culture you'd know they aren't very easy to come by in japan, considering they're all but completely outlawed and such. special licenses are involved. a cheap sword to practice with is a stupid idea. just look at the guy from that home shopping network. and once again, that site is crap. way overpriced blades with questionable origins. get one from bugei or a real swordmaker, not some horrid site that should be selling on ebay.

In almost any collection the items collected are never used.
