Kaspersky taking 6+ hours to run a full scan on my laptop...

I installed Kaspersky Anti Virus 6.0 a few weeks ago and noticed it was slow, but decided to run a full system scan tonight... It shows a start time of 1:48am and a Finish Time of 7:58am

How is that humanly possible? Its been going for ~ 30 mins now and is still at 6%, but slowly working its way through the files..

I checked my power settings, on battery power (which the system currently is), the CPU speed is set to maximum.

Any ideas?
