why doesn't this program auto-update itself?

That question should be directed to the Kaspersky programmers. :p I too wish that program updates were part of the live update feature, but in the end all antivirus apps have their pros and cons. At least we can help each other by posting the updates in this forum. :)

I rather do a manual update myself and use the wait and see approach than having a forced live update that may hose my existing setup. Anyways thanks for the heads up John.

I already have had problem with the new version. It looked like it took the settings of the old version, but protection against network attacks was working, even though it said it was not started on the protection tab. WTF Kaspersky!!!:|

My mom's installation did that when I updated its version about 6 months ago. I emailed tech support and they politely accused me of pirating it :confused: I sent them the proof of purchase (Element 5 online purchase number and stuff) and never did get any tech support. Goes to show they're not perfect, I guess...
