Just installed and validated Kaspersky 6.0 (retail) on a new installation of Win XP Pro.

I realized I set the date 1 day ahead of the "actual" date and changed the Windows Time/Date setting back to the 28th, but Kaspersky shut down a few moments later saying the date/time settings were wrong and that I needed to validate the key. I tried this but it said it was in use.

I set back to the 29th, and all is well.
How can I correct this? I'm one day ahead in time and the program won't let me change it. I already tried totally uninstalling and reinstalling twice but it does the same thing!

Right now, the computer's Date is set at the 30th. If I set it to the right date (29th), Kaspersky will shut down with zero protection.

I guess you could first try safe mode to reset date.
If you have system restore on, you can go back to prior to Kas install.
Kas has a hundred options, so you may have to "lighten" or turn off certain modes, like all but basic, then reset back to higher protection.
You could also try turning off the Kas server processes (there are 2 as I recall) - this is whats causing saying it is in use, even tho off.
Some of these AV/security progs put permanent hidden keys in the registry, or info may be stored on Kas server that you connect to when prog loads, and modem connects.
You could download an old version of registrar lite (2.0) (it has now been folded into a new larger app) to do a deep scan of entire registry with "kaspersky", and delete evrything you pick up. It works a lot better than regedit.
Just make sure you have entire registry highlighted for search.

Edit:
Just noticed its a fresh install of XP - not much rollback there - lol

Forget trying to email their tech support, they never answer. Personally I would shut your laptop down for a day OR try to turn off Automatic updates since that may be when it is verifying itself. If I were to make a guess KAV sees that you already have an update for the day so it is getting confused and thinking you are trying to trick it.
