Well... its embarrassing, but not that ironic. Kaspersky specializes in virus detection - an intrusion tends to rely on manually executed exploits of some kind of code. If they specialized in firewall and ips technologies, then they'd be in really big trouble. :p

true but you'd think they would be overall more security minded than other companies so this kind of thing wouldn't happen....

I think this was a case of them not fully investigating third-party security more so than a breach of their security.
