I'm running XP Home Media Center SP2 and IE7. When I start to type a URL in the address bar, I'm asked whether to terminate, allow or deny this:

Intrusive module:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\IEFRAME.dll

Process ID (PID): 2220

Version: 7.00.6000.16512 (vista_gdr.070625-1522)

Vendor: Microsoft Corporation

Size: 5.8 MB

Created: 11/7/2006 9:03:36 PM

Modified: 6/27/2007 7:34:55 AM

Description: Internet Explorer

I've been clicking to deny it. Then I can write some more of the URL and after a few tries, I can get it all in and go to the site I want. But it gets screwy again every time I try to type in an address.

It says the file was modified on 6/27/07, but this just started showing up tonight.

Should I terminate it? I don't want to get rid of something I need.

If you enabled Application Integrity Control, that might be the cause (judging by a little Google searching).

1. Update virus definitions and run a full scan first, as a precaution.

2. Try disabling the AIC temporarily, and see if that was the deal.

Also, this topic looks like it would fit best in Security, so it is being moved there from Software For Windows.

Thanks, I thought Kaspersky might be causing other problems, so I replaced it with another antivirus.
