Update: slow web browsing problem still ie.. at AT forums, disabling mail protection fixed it,wonder if we'll see a proper fix by Kaspersky later?

I am still baffled as to how POP3 email protection slows web browsing. BTW KAV/KIS 7.0 is now listed on the main website.

Dang, I just bought KIS 6.0 because of that rebate deal at Fry's. Think they will offer some kinda upgrade discount? Or should I just not bother upgrading?

*edit!*
Ahh, I answered my own question. Check it out: free upgrade for the remainder of your subscription

Okay, I'm confused now.

I have Internet Security ver 6. Last month, I renewed my license, so I'm okay in that department.

John's link leads to a thread that "strongly recommends" that you to uninstall ver 6 before installing ver 7. Tachyon74's link gives instructions for updating but says to uninstall only if you have an earlier version than ver 6. Ya gotta love a website that provides conflicting statements. :p

Those of you who upgraded, which method did you follow? I just want to upgrade as smoothly as possible...;)

I uninstalled my old version of Kaspersky 6 first, recommended so your new Kaspersky 7 is a clean install, less problems that way.

I also uninstalled 6.0 in normal mode, rebooted to safe mode to run the removal tool (just in case), then I installed 7.0.

I installed 7 over 6 with no problems so far. 7 even picked up my prior settings and serial number so I assume it was aware of 6 and dealt with it accordingly. My general feeling is that 7 is more polished and feature-adjusted than 6.

Because I am lazy, I created a Restore Point (just in case) and went ahead and installed 7 over 6. Went smoothly, and it also picked up my settings from 6 and my activation code number. Updated it, made a couple of tweaks, and all is well. :)

Yea, I just downloaded the new one and installed with the key that came with 6. I hadn't installed 6 yet because I just got it (that rebate deal from Fry's). So all I did was download and put in the key from the back of the disc which I never ended up putting in my computer :-D
