WEEKLY UPDATE - WEEK 8
August 18, 2002

Greetings! Welcome to the two month anniversary of my low-budget website! Every week just gets better and better! This week I had a whopping 204,097 hits on the site! And I received $2,630.84 from PayPal and through the PO Box. I also made $682.46 from my eBay sales! My favorite brown leather fringed purse went for $107 on eBay. I am tearing up as I send it off... I just listed a bunch of new items on eBay, so please check them out. This week's "Big Ticket Item" is a pair of unworn Prada slingbacks. They are ivory and gold and really purdy.

Also, I got three gift baskets this week from nice people, and all sorts of other cool stuff! Thank you thank you! People are so nice. Also a man named Wayne Roache bought 3 domain names savekaryn.net, savekaryn.org, and savekaryn.us, so mean people wouldn't buy them and start anti-karyn sites!

So I got this email this week from a guy who said this: "Why on earth would people send money to a stranger without getting some sort of payback? Please enlighten me."

Okay dude, here's your enlightenment... What I have to say is ewwwww.... I'm glad I'm not as pessimistic as you! Here's a story...

Today I gave two stamps to some random guy at the post office because the line was too long and he didn't want to wait. I was standing there with a whole book of stamps in my hand and he asked me if he could have two and I said sure. He offered me money and I said, "Don't worry." It was two stamps, you know? He smiled and said, "Oh you made my day." And I said, "I'm glad to have made your day." I gave him something for nothing, and got something in return. It wasn't money, but it was the satisfaction that I helped him out. He left with a smile and so did I.

So to all you people who gave me money, "You made my day." I am smiling, just like the guy at the post office. And just by the letters and emails that I've received from you, I bet you are smiling too. I hope it made you feel good like I felt good when I gave that guy two stamps. So, that's what you get Mr. Pessimistic. Hopefully you are enlightened.

You shouldn't do things in life for the sole purpose of getting things back. You should do them because you want to make this world a better place. And what you SHOULD get back is a positive feeling because you've helped someone out. To me, that is satisfaction and payback enough.

I know I've said it once, and I'll say it again. If my website works, and I get my debt paid off, I will SO give back to the community. I will be so indebted to everyone for making my life easier by taking the burden of debt off my shoulders. And I won't do it because it's what I'm supposed to do, but because it's what I WANT to do. When people help you, you feel compelled to help other people. Maybe after I gave that guy two stamps today he went out and gave someone bus fare, or gave someone change at the grocery store. Or maybe he just took that smile of his and smiled at everyone on his way home! I know I did... That's what you get back, and that's better than just about anything.

XOXO

Whatta bitch.

Whatta bitch.

Werd. It's not like she even ran up the debt as a result of a messy divorce or loss of job or anything like that. She's just a self-absorbed twat who likes to shop. I'd contribute some dog crap in a box, but that would require spending money on postage.
:disgust:

Part of me really admires her shamelessness, you know? I don't think it would ever have occurred to me to ask a bunch of strangers to give me $20,000 to bail me out of my consumer debt . . .
