With the Wii Fit coming out earlier, my wife decided after seeing it on TV that she wanted it (okay I did too), I wanted to get it. So I put the plans into motion, traded a $25 GameStop giftcard for a BestBuy giftcard so I could use my rewards points and rewards coupons. Of course the swap of giftcards went a day late, and I received the BB card yesterday - and stopping on the way home found out they sold out on Wednesday (no surprise really).
So I take today off as a floating holiday from work, to spend the day with my wife and newborn, do a little housework, replant my tomato plants, and do a little shopping. The fun begins at about 2am... my wife wakes with stomach cramps, as do I. Bathroom run, back to bed. at 6am my wife wakes up throwing up, at 7am I get up and get the kids ready for school. This day is going down hill fast.
At around 10am my wife wakes up feeling a bit better. Shower, dress and out the door we go, and imagine that, it's sunny out!
We head to a couple stores, do a bit of shopping - of course I can't find the pots I want for my tomato plants. We head off to KMart since it's downtown around a bunch of other stores - and while they don't have pots, swinging by the electronics department I score a couple of DS and GBA games for my kids on clearance for $3 each.
At this point we decide it's time for lunch, but there's a GameStop right near the Chili's so we stop there first on a whim (Wii Fit?). I walk in, being accosted by a sales rep, I asked if there had any Wii Fits in stock and was told they sold out off the preorders and weren't expecting any for 3 more weeks - at which point the other rep stocking shelves said there were a couple in back. After a brief discussion of whether they were going to sell them (apparently they were holding them for defective returns for the preorders), they brought them up front and I walk out with one. The irony - I traded a GameStop GC for a BestBuy GC for that purpose. Oh well... it made my wife happy. Now I get to go to BestBuy for other "loot".
