Both are not "crooked as can be". Republicans at the highest levels of government were FAR more corrupt than Democrats over the past 5 years.

I don't know about anybody else, but I didn't think all those listed were examples of (political) corruption.
For example:
"Presidential Domestic Policy Advisor and self proclaimed Christian conservative Claude Allen arrested for shoplifting over $5,000 worth of items from Target stores."
Other than him being a government employee (I'm not sures he's even a polititian, he wasn't elected), his problem is personal, and doesn't have anything to do with politics like Abramoff etc. He's an example of "emotional issues" leading to shoplifting. I don't think shoplifting = corruption.
Also:
"Senate Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist is under investigation for possible securities violations regarding his stock in the company his family founded"
I'm unclear on what this has to do with politics? It's stock in his personal portfolio, and the stock is in his family business. Was he using his office in an illegal manner to benefit the family company? I admit that I just don't the facts?
To me, bribes, conspiracy, campaign contribution shenanigans and the like are (political) corruption.
Based on what we know as fact, this one's looking a bit "thin" as an example of corruption:
"Vice President Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff Scooter Libby resigns after being indicted on felony charges of obstruction of justice, perjury and making false statements in the CIA leak investigation "
There's no money involved etc. At best, it one time looked like "dirty politics". Now that doesn't even seem the case.
Also, listing indictments as examples is understandable, but until there's a conviction it's a bit like "counting your chickens before they hatch".
Overall, I still think your point is valid. Yeah, looks like more Repubs than Dems caught with "their hands in the cookie jar". But that's the "S.O.S.", it's always who's in power. Hard to "sell access' when nobody wants to see you because you can't do "jack" for them.

I agree with the first 2. Libby knowingly lied under oath ... that is corruption in my book.
Taking these 2 into consideration, the percentage is 71.7% Republican.
