I even looked up Democrats who were corrupt and posted them too...I hold them equally accountable. The point is, right now they aren't as bad as the Republicans. And when Democrats are back in Office, I will continue to hold them accountable.. so I guess then you'll say I am a Republican...

It is pathetic and sad that many Republicans think that if you hold them accountable for being corrupt, you must be a democrat... what is wrong with simply wanting NON CORRUPT POLITICIANS!?

AHAHAHAHAHA Are you kidding? I walked away from the other thread because you are an idiot... It basically went me proving my point and you going to some petty little thing. I finaly realised that you don't get it same as on this thread. I don't care about for us or against us, I care about what is the right thing. you posted 3 people orriginaly... a google search pulls up "about 17,700,000." ... I think all politicians shouldn't be corrupt. Unfortunately that won't happen. Like I have said many times, the Democrats are no more crooked than the Republicans. And yet you would seem to be the partisan hack because when I say both are you respond with "OMG NO!!! Democrats aren't crooked! Can you read?!? OMGs!!!"

You lost this debate. Get over it. I proved it by pointing out that Republicans outnumber Democrats as corrupt 3 to 1. Deal with it. If you can't show evidence to the contrary, you shouldn't make false accusations. Welcome to the real world!

3 to 1... the proof is in the thread above. Sad that you can't admit what YOU YOURSELF helped prove! Haha! You are so so sad.

Hint: Don't make a challenge if the facts will prove you wrong.
Hint 2: If the facts then prove you wrong, don't pretend that you still won the argument!

uh... yeah... You sure proved me wrong... :disgust: Oh wait, I forgot, you are still going off of your (unreliable) figure - I know you won't get it so to save time I'll spell it out, you making some changes and deleting what you want doesn't "prove" anything especially considering that you (nor I for that matter) don't even know how far the corruption goes. If you want to call me a hack, fine. But so far I have come out saying both parties are corrupt whereas you say - only Republicans. Yep, I'm a hack. So, go take your cookie :cookie: and go home

Hmm, unreliable? Are you saying that one of the corrupt politicans I listed was not corrupt? Feel free to point them out. I'll be waiting!

Fscking pathetic. Arguing about which paty is more corrupt.

Maybe if stupid fscking morons like yourself would abandon both corrupt major parties, we could get some Green or Libertarian candidates in office and actually change politics. Instead, you argue like children about who's dad can beat up who.

Fscking morons, you're to blame for American politics.

Actually, his demonstration of the high numbers of corrupt, high level Republicans compared to corrupt high-level Democrats over the past 5 years was quite impressive. A terrible indictment on Republicans and their ethics right now. :)

I guess if pointing out proven corruption amongst both parties makes me leftist in your eyes, then so be it! I take that label with honor!

I think its a sad indictment for everyone when one party can somehow claim they are less corrupt than another. My point isn't that ONE is Better, but that BOTH are as crooked as can be.

Both are not "crooked as can be". Republicans at the highest levels of government were FAR more corrupt than Democrats over the past 5 years.

It is sad that when shown evidence that one party is 73% more corrupt than the other, that people still refuse to accept it.

I don't know about anybody else, but I didn't think all those listed were examples of (political) corruption.

For example:

"Presidential Domestic Policy Advisor and self proclaimed Christian conservative Claude Allen arrested for shoplifting over $5,000 worth of items from Target stores."

Other than him being a government employee (I'm not sures he's even a polititian, he wasn't elected), his problem is personal, and doesn't have anything to do with politics like Abramoff etc. He's an example of "emotional issues" leading to shoplifting. I don't think shoplifting = corruption.

Also:

"Senate Republican Majority Leader Bill Frist is under investigation for possible securities violations regarding his stock in the company his family founded"

I'm unclear on what this has to do with politics? It's stock in his personal portfolio, and the stock is in his family business. Was he using his office in an illegal manner to benefit the family company? I admit that I just don't the facts?

To me, bribes, conspiracy, campaign contribution shenanigans and the like are (political) corruption.

Based on what we know as fact, this one's looking a bit "thin" as an example of corruption:

"Vice President Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff Scooter Libby resigns after being indicted on felony charges of obstruction of justice, perjury and making false statements in the CIA leak investigation "

There's no money involved etc. At best, it one time looked like "dirty politics". Now that doesn't even seem the case.

Also, listing indictments as examples is understandable, but until there's a conviction it's a bit like "counting your chickens before they hatch".

Overall, I still think your point is valid. Yeah, looks like more Repubs than Dems caught with "their hands in the cookie jar". But that's the "S.O.S.", it's always who's in power. Hard to "sell access' when nobody wants to see you because you can't do "jack" for them.

I agree with the first 2. Libby knowingly lied under oath ... that is corruption in my book.

Taking these 2 into consideration, the percentage is 71.7% Republican.
