Kancho (カンチョー, kanchō?)[1] is a prank often played in Japan; it is performed by clasping the hands together so the index fingers are pointing out and attempting to insert them sharply into someone's anal region when the victim is not looking.[2][3] It is similar to the wedgie or a goosing, although, as compared to kancho, the former mentioned acts do not involve physical contact which is quite as intimate or direct. A Kancho is often executed simultaneously as the offending party loudly emphasizes the second syllable of "Kan-CHO!".

what the fuck japan?

This must be why they bow instead of shake hands. Those hands might have been used to do rather unsavory things - things which are easier to do while you're bent down, bowing to someone.

My apologies, I thought you owned a TV.

I'm not sure where you're from, but in my area unless you're actively looking for anime you aren't going to see it. It's not something that just pops up on Discovery or ESPN... so I don't understand why you think every person that has a TV has seen anime. My grandparents have owned a TV longer than most of AT has been alive, and they haven't heard of anime either.

Hmmm. Seems like you live in the outback. So, you've never been channel hopping and came across animation that had you going wtf? I guess if you only look at Discovery and ESPN the only horrendous animation you've seen would be commercials.

Think of an animated version of Jeremy Green's life that begins in the middle and goes on in agonizing detail about his life and friends in HS punctuated by gratuitous blood and guts and you've got anime.

Being an elementary and junior high school teacher here, this was one of the first Japanese words that I learned... unfortunately 🙁
