I need to draw a tripeptide using any amino acid????
dont know where to start...
what would it look like?

Tripeptide

Look at the bottom picture. That is a tripeptide. Replace the "R" with a side chain from any of the amino acids.

So if you wanted it to be three alanine amino acids in a row, replace the "R" with -CH3

oh crazy person..I am glad you found it..I just saw your thread. Tripeptides are in my blood dood...i am a biochem major. what am I doing on this forum..shrugg...:) I am glad you found it. Any more questions?

yeah...well...close enough to an indian..defenitely a south asian. However Kalpana is not my name but I think it is a cool name. :)

and I dissappeared because I just moved and started med school in a city...and didn't get a chance to surf too much. heck I should be studying my butt of right now..but I am so tired of it and it has only been like three weeks. go figure.

And kinda feeling down...away from everyone and everything familiar to me. I am not complaining...it is wonderful here...but new places sometimes get to you. All I want right now is to be back home curled up against my boy friend on a big comfy couch and watch a movie that I hate (since thats about all the movie that he ever likes) and waste the night...with a bowl of pop corn on the side. Or be chilling with my best friends and being the biggest goofs that only the three of us can be when together.

i am doing comparative, just finished skin a shark and cat.... not as fun as human... but oh well...
i will only get better...

Hey Kalpana, you gonna watch the new season of E.R. with that Indian girl in it (the one from "Bend it Like Beckham"??) Took them awhile but they've finally got an Indian cast member...now its a bit more in touch with reality!!

Best of luck to all of you with bio/chem/dissections/etc...

thats awesome...this is the premier week..isn't it? Man..if only I had more time. But I have got to watch E.R. and scrubs religously now...Grin. went to a emergency medicine meeting...to find out more about what I want to do..since I have no clue. And Wow..it seems soo exciting. We'll see..I just don't want to end up being a primary care doctor seeing patients with flu every day and earning enough to pay back my loans in fifteen years.

Seriously ? Amino acids linked together form a peptide. Tri = 3. The amine and the carboxylic acid couple. /me hangs head in shame that this isn't obvious to someone likely to earn more than I
