I want to move my current Hackintosh installation to a bigger hard drive. I've backed up using SuperDuper and Time Machine. I'm restoring via the Disc Utility and from the DVD boot. I chose Restore from Time Machine and selected the new hard drive as the new destination. After completetion and I boot, I'm just left with a blinking cursor.

Thanks.

Insert new hard drive
Format new hard drive to HFS+ using Disk Utility
Run SuperDuper, or CarbonCopyCloner to clone old hard drive to new hard drive
Turn off computer, put new hard drive into the same SATA port as old hard drive
Remove old hard drive for now
Start computer

That should work, at least that is how it works on you know... real macs (disclaimer* i highly respect the hackintosh community, and will, once i get the parts together, probably try it on my own computer, but, they are not real macs at the end of the day)

Blinking cursor? Sounds like the boot code didn't get copied over. There's an EFI script you can try that might work:

This worked! Thank you so much!!!!

Awesome! For some reason, on some boards the EFI just doesn't get copied over. On the BA2, you actually have to install EFI v8, then EFI v7, then EFI v8 again. Makes no sense, I know, but that's the way it is :)
