They have been cheaper but still a good deal.

Newegg has the Kai Pure Komachi 6.5" Stainless-Steel Vegetable Santoku Knife (AB5065 Orange or AB5038 Pink) for $5 with free shipping. Constructed of high-carbon stainless steel and features fluorinated-resin coating and a full tang.

A little sniggling will reveal that there are 6 models for the same price. Weird colors tho.

How about to a link to the product ??

I bought the exact same knife although it's under a different name and color from Grocery Outlet for $3.99. Same one at Winco was $14 🙂 I love mine. Might pick up a second one from the egg 🙂

Not bad knives for the price, but note the resin coating discolors with use and age - at least mine from a previous deal have. Color coding is a cute gimmick, but I'd hoped the coating would resist tomato stains, etc and it has not.

YMMV of course,

I have several of these and have found that if you wash/dry them immediately after use, they won't stain. Pain in the ass, but if you care about appearance it's worth it I guess?

Good to know - I presume by "immediately after use" you mean not even waiting until done preparing the meal, because ours generally get washed at the end of meal prep. Again, not intended as a real slam on the knives, just a warning about what to expect.

Doe these hold their sharpness long? I hate knives that don't because I'm too lazy to sharpen them all the time.

Yeah I mean immediately. As in, "OK I'm done with this knife for the night, even though I have another 30 minutes of prep on this meal, but I better wash/dry it now if I don't want stains." We learned the hard way. My in-laws have the same knives and their fluorescent yellow paring knife looks like it was used to commit a felony or two, not slice tomatoes.

damn, I thought $6.99 on Amazon was a good price. In for another?

cytoSiN, are you sure they're tomato stains? 😉

Btw, the pink chef's knife is 8 in.
