I just got a KA7-100 and everything works fine except for the fact it will not detect my DVD and CD-RW drives. I put my IBM 75 GXP on the ATA100 IDE3 and set boot to FutureATA. I put the DVD and CDRW as master and each on its own IDE controller, 1 and 2. When the DVD is plugged in the bios will not pass the finding ide drives, for the CDRW, it just isn't found and continues to boot. When the hard drive is plugged in to the IDE1 it is detected fine.

Also I'm using WinME and it says the VIA Bus Master PCI IDE Controller is installed. I read that its not supposed to, but I can't uninstall it in the installation the of the 4in1 drivers since busmastering isn't a choice to check or uncheck.

Thanks

I believe your problem lies in the fact that you are trying to use the cdrw and dvd as masters. Put them on the same cable and set one as a slave and see what happens. I think that even though you have the hard drive on the ata100 controller, I still believe the system sees it as a master device. I don't think you can have 3 master devices on the KA7 100. And I had a KA7 100 and I don't ever remember it not using the via bus drivers found in Win98se. I don't think ME would be any different.
