KA266-R/1.33/HSF question

Just upgraded lately and finally ordered my HSF(a Alpha PEP66T w/YS fan).Just wondering if there are any issues with this particular HSF on the Iwill KA266-R board.I'm looking for trials and tribulations here.I read somewhere recently about someone breaking there CPU(1.33 doh!) installing their HSF.I'm in no rush(because of work...grrrrr)but any responses are appreciated.Thx all!

The Alpha will fit just fine, but you must be careful installing it. There is a large ammount of force required to attach the retention mechanism to achieve sure contact with the core. Carelesness will result in uneven pressure (not perpindicular) and possible cracking of the CPU core.

If you are careful, you'll be ok. The absolute safest thing to do is to get one of the many copper spacers available for about ten bucks online. These lay on the ceramic portion of the CPU and prevent cracking and may aid a little in cooling.
