I just bought a asus k8v deluxe mobo and amd 3400+ with a 420w psu. This is pissing me off the pc seems to boot up but mobo not recognizing my plug and play monitor, there is nothing wrong with my agp card or monitor even tried with a pci card. Also tried clearing the cmos but that did nothing.

it doesn't recognize your plug and play monitor, what?

you tried another video card? probably a dead motherboard, faulty power supply, grounding problem? troubleshoot.

That sounds like a Windows problem, not a K8V Deluxe problem. What monitor is it?

Is the monitor coming on at all, or is it just naming you monitor to a generic windows monitor? Don't you just love the PLUG and PRAY system :)?

Could you please describe in detail what happens when you power up the system from a powered-off condition? It's not clear yet what symptoms you're experiencing. Does the monitor display initially, then black out? Or does it never display at all? Does the monitor work with other computers? Did you do a fresh installation of Windows to go with your new mobo/CPU combo?

The monitor works fine was just using it on my other pc before I built this one. Monitor just says no input signal go to power save options then black.

So you power up the system from a dead stop and the monitor never gets a valid signal. Hmm... how about list out a complete list of all the parts in the system as it stands right now, including the power supply and of course the memory modules. Also confirm that your 4-pin square ATX12V secondary power cable is plugged into the K8V Deluxe's ATX12V connector.

Sometimes even the most obvious can be missed. I don't think I would go that far as trying to tell him to hire someone else unless you actually know him! Just my 2 cents worth!
